Capturing birth in Richmond, Lexington, Georgetown, Versailles and Frankfort.

I strive to honor the sacredness of your story. I document your birth quietly and unobtrusively. Your baby and your body lead the way' my work reflects a deep commitment to my clients and their varied birth journeys.

Why should I hire a birth photographer?

Birth is a whirlwind: a wonderful and intense whirlwind. Many mothers find that after giving birth, they only have a few concrete memories of the experience. Birth photography allows you to remember all the big and small moments of your journey. The tenderness of your partner, the intensity in your face, the beauty in the struggle to hold on when everything inside of you wants to give up. And, of course, those first miraculous moments when you finally meet your baby.

Many of our clients cry when they view their images for the first time. There is something so powerful about reliving your birth experience. Like a wedding, a birth is a day you'll remember for the rest of your life. Having professional birth photographs can help give those memories more shape and power.

When do you arrive?

I like to arrive when my clients are in active labor. I have three varying packages. We can arrive around 6 cm dilated, or we can come during the final pushes. We ask that you have someone who can easily communicate with me during your labor to ensure that I come at just the right time.

How long do you stay?
I usually stay around 1 hour post party. I like to take pictures of the newborn exam, as well as your first potential experiences with breast feeding and family kangaroo care. If you are interested in further coverage (arrival of siblings, grandparents, etc) we can add that to your package.

What happens if you miss the birth?

Birth can be unpredictable! I make every effort to arrive with enough time to capture your labor, birth and the first hour together. In the event of a truly precipitous labor, I still aim to tell your story (in this case... your story was a fast, unpredictable birth!) I will stay as long as I need to capture the same amount of images you would have received if your labor was longer. I also avoid booking births in heavy wedding months, so if you are due in September or October, we can explore Fresh 48 options instead of birth.

How many images can I expect?

Wedeliver between 200-300 professionally edited images. The exact number depends on the unique length and unfolding of your story.

Do you share every birth on social media?

Although I LOVE sharing empowering images of birth, these images will remain private unless I have permission from the families to share them. Please let me know if we can share your experience.
